The Republic of Ireland made their World Cup debut in 1990, qualifying for the first time after nearly 60 years of attempts. The Irish were heavy underdogs in Group F alongside England, the Netherlands, and Egypt. Without a superstar squad, they shocked the world by reaching the Quarter-Final stage but were ultimately sent home by Italy in a tight 0-1 defeat. The 1990 Italia World Cup remains the Republic of Ireland’s best-ever World Cup result. The Irish football heroes that wore this kit include team captain Mick McCarthy, Kevin Moran, John Aldridge, David O’Leary, and Frank Stapleton.

This shirt is a classic remake of the OPEL version of the Republic of Ireland 1990 World Cup jersey. FIFA and UEFA prohibited national teams from playing with sponsored shirts, so the team competed with the blank version of this jersey, featuring the 90s chevron design pattern. We prefer the OPEL version!

This jersey has been remade with impeccable attention to detail. It features the same collar, sleeving, ridges, and embroidery as the original.
